Mrs. Hawkins’
Birthday
Mrs. C.J. Hawkins celebrated her 89th birthday
Sunday. Mrs. Hawkins is said to be the oldest resident of the city. She has
held her membership in the First Baptist church of this city for a long number
of years and during the services Sunday especial reference was made to her
strong loyalty to this institution. Her granddaughter, Mrs. Will Morrow of
Marshall, rendered a solo during the service.
In the afternoon Mrs. Hawkins received many of her friends
at her residence and many gifts and congratulations were given. She entertained
about 15 guests at dinner.
