Left Baby on Front Porch

A mysterious little visitor entreated entrance to the home of W.D. Mendenhall, 329 East Bragg street, at 10:45 o’clock Wednesday night, immediately after neighbors saw a machine drive up to the door and observed that a woman left a bulky looking package on the front porch. The bell was rung as the intruder departed hastily, and when E.J. Mendenhall, who also resides there, opened the door, he discovered a 10-pound baby boy, apparently only a few hours of age, but well dressed, wrapped carefully in a blanket, which also contained several changes of tasteful clothes.

The neighbors thought that the human package was the laundry, and they paid no attention to their observations until the discovery had been made. For this reason those who left the child were not traced.
