In Wilson City Court 100 Years Ago

Mayor’s Court

Mayor Hill disposed of the following cases this morning:

G.W. Carraway, 30 days on road for abandonment and non-support of family.

George Oats charged $54.25 for carrying a pistol.

A.B. Farmer drunk and carrying a concealed weapon, forfeited bond of $75.

Martha Wilson, disorderly, $14.25.

Jonah Barnes, $9.25 for gambling.

Jack Johnson forfeited bond of $10.

Clara Whitley, $15.75 for gambling.

Caroline Edwards, $19.25 for being drunk and disorderly.

Robert Elliott, $14.25 for disorderly conduct.

Leonard Edwards, $2.50 for running car with only one light.

Frank Richardson, $4.25 for driving car with no lights.

John Johnson, $1 for not blocking horse.

J.D. Bunn, $4.25 for having no numbers on his car. (This means he hadn’t paid to have it registered.)
