Southwest Alamance

Christmas is past and gone, and everything in our community has been very quiet during the holidays; no drunkenness at all.

Oakdale and X Roads schools closed for the holidays, each with a nice Christmas tree.

J.R. Foster’s family, which is very much scattered, all met at the old home with him on Christmas Day.

We understand the old Kimeville Cotton Mill has been sold and the buyers are taking down the machinery and will ship it to Japan.

Grover Shoffner’s little son is improving.

Lola Smith has come to spend the winter. She has been working in Burlington.

Wm. Foster of the Mt. Hope section visited relatives near Oakdale during the holidays.
