Mt. Olive Home Demonstration Club Posts Resolutions for New Year, Jan. 7, 1920

Mt. Olive Club Meets

Mt. Olive Home Demonstration Club met at the home of Mrs. G.E. Long January 1st. The club was called to order by the president, roll called, and each member answered with helpful hits for the New Year. Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted.

New Year’s resolutions were passed, which were as follows:

1st. Resolved to quit eating and drinking too much.

2nd. Resolved to cut out high cost of living.

3rd. Resolved that during this year every old bachelor shall be taken care of –recommendations being only suggestive and not compulsory.

4th. Resolved that in the New Year we will not spat with our husbands.

5th Resolve, that during this New Year we will keep quiet in church and that our husbands and children do the same.

6th Resolve, that during the year we will try to assist our husbands in every way possible and try not to see their shortcomings.

The following program followed:

Song “The Star of the East,” Mrs. G.E. Long and Mrs. R.L. McRee.

“A New Year’s Poem”—Mrs. David McRee.

Some enjoyable games were then played, after which delicious refreshments were served by the hostess.

The Club decided to meet again February 5th at the home of Mrs. W.T. McRee.
