Rosman News

J.Z. Stroupe and R.K. Powell have made two other successful raids on blockade stills in the Reed’s Siding section. Last Tuesday they raided a large distillery across Toxaway River, about 3 miles from Reid’s Siding, and captured the still and outfit of 100 gallons, 300 gallons of beer and two large mashes. Also raided same section Thursday and captured a distillery outfit of 75 gallons and a large quantity of mashes of about 7 bushels. Officers say that they seem to have an incentive for stills in that section.

Last report for Dillie Fisher was that he was improving nicely.

C. Pharr returned to his home near Olin last week.

Mr. Owenby has taken charge of the Rosman Hotel, which was recently vacated by Mrs. Burgess.

Miss Harriet Platt, who spent several months in Virginia, is again here with her sister, Mrs. Claude Green.
