Memorial Day To Be Celebrated May 12 in Wilson, 1919

Memorial Day May the 12^th. . . Daughters of the Confederacy and Numerous Organizations 

Hosts to Soldiers Sailors, as Well as the Veterans

Memorial day will be observed in Wilson this year on Monday, May 12^th.

In addition to memorializing the war between the States the Daughters of the Confederacy will unite with the town and county in honoring the boys of the World War.

All Wilson County Veterans of ’61 and ’65, all soldiers, sailors, marines and Home Guards of the World War are cordially invited to be with us and partake of the glad welcome we would give them.

We are requested to state that the John W. Dunham Chapter Daughters of the Confederacy is delighted to co-operate with the City and County authorities and the business men of Wilson and their various organizations in providing a day’s entertainment, including a barbecue dinner and dance, and to the proprietors of the Watson Warehouse and the Shriners who so kindly loaned the use of the warehouse and their decorations, and the music, in order to honor the soldiers of two wars.
