Earnestine Hayes Will Lead New Teacher's Association at A. &. E., June 20, 1919

Franklin County Teachers Organization

On Thursday afternoon at 5 o’clock a meeting of all the teachers of Franklin County attending the summer session at A. & E. was called. In response a large number, decidedly the largest number from any single county at A. & E., met in Winston Hall.

From time to time the teachers of Franklin county have felt the need of some organization during the summer term at A. & E. holding in mind not only the social advantages but desiring an opportunity for discussing and planning the needs of the schools in the county.

Supt. Best, who is a known booster for any movement pertaining to education in Franklin, acted a chairman.

The following officers and committees were elected:

President, Earnestine Hayes

Vice-President, Lena Gill

Secretary, Beulah Cyrus

Stunt Committee—Camilla Yarborough, Gertrude Winston, Mary Turner, Genevieve Macon, Florme(?) Boone.

Publicity Committee—Eleanor Yarborough, Ruby Harris, Lora Trickner.
