Forced to Land
One of the three Navy planes that were heading for the
landing field at the Country Club Saturday afternoon was forced to land about 4
½ miles East of this city on account of the exhaustion of the gasoline supply.
The plane came down in a cotton patch and was soon
surrounded by a throng of spectators.
As soon as a supply of gasoline was obtained, the machine
was able to resume the flight.
