Man Found Dead
on Road
Mr. Jess Brewer was found dead in a ditch at Bloomer’s Swamp here yesterday.
He was an inmate of the asylum at Raleigh for several years and it is believed
that he has only recently effected his escape form the institution.
The body was found in a ditch, head first, with feet sticking out.
Suspicions of foul play are entertained but the coroner has not
yet finished his investigations. He has been unable to find any motive or trace
of evidence.
The family of the deceased live about five miles from Wilson, near
Mr. George Dew’s home. It has thus far been unable to get into communcation
with them.
