Bunn High School Commencement, April 18, 22, and 23, 1920.
Bunn High School commencement will begin by a baccalaureate sermon by Rev. John A. Ellis, pastor of Pullen Memorial Baptist church, Raleigh, N.C., April 18, 1920, 3:00 p.m.
Thursday evening, April 22, 8:15 p.m. the Elementary department will have their exercises.
Friday morning, April 23, the address by Prof. J.W. Ferrell, dean of Meredith College, followed by the graduating exercises. Then a big picnic dinner on the grounds.
At 2 p.m. the class day exercises, followed by a ball game.
At 8:30 the annual High School Play, “Prairie Rose,” one of Edith Painton’s comedy dramas of the Kansas Prairies, in four acts. This is an unusually good play.
There are six Seniors this year: Misses Annie Dickerson, Meta Horton and Lucy Moore, and Messrs. Edward Cheves, Malcolm Mullen and Samuel Perry. Rosser Mullen finishing except one-half unit of Latin.
The public is invited to attend all these exercises.
Not long ago our school was visited by Col. Fred A. Olds and Mr. Crosby, the movie man, and two of his able assistance, Miss Susie Dickson and Mrs. Thomas. It was a rare treat for us. Besides making a movie reel of our school, they told stories, taught games, and gave us as good a movie show as you see any place. Our people were delighted, 441 persons present. Why not follow the other progressive counties and put on movies for Franklin County School?
The Senior Class enjoyed a picnic Thursday p.m., April 1, at Clifton’s Pond. They were the guests of the High School faculty and Misses Gill, Peace and Stell, other members of the faculty. Everyone admits that if it was “all fools day,” they would like to have the dose repeated, except “Lucy”—ask her.
