Carlisle Swinson of Norfolk, Va., who served over seas with the 30th division, was instantly killed and two companions badly injured at midnight when an automobile in which they were riding overturned five miles west of Wilson, N.C. A broken radius rod caused the accident. The top of Swinson’s head was torn off.
