Clay, Peeler, Spencer Convicted of Stealing Roy Abernethy's Hudson, Jan. 5, 1921

Henry Clay, the older of the three boys who carried Mr. Roy Abernethy’s Hudson automobile to Charlotte, was convicted before Recorder Pruitt yesterday afternoon and sentenced to the roads for 60 days. He was said to be the leader in the party, and has frequently been in trouble. Sam Peeler and Basil Spencer, the other two boys, were tried in the juvenile court before Judge Frank A. Clinard, and each was made to bear his part of the cost in the case, required to attend day school, go to Sunday school and church, and be off the street before 9 o’clock at night.
