A letter to the postmaster from Crawfordsville, Ga., states that Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith and two children were burned to death there last Sunday night and that nobody at Crawfordsville knows the families of the couple. R.H. Bowman, who wrote to the postmaster, stated that Mr. Smith frequently spoke of Hickory, N.C., and it occurred to him that he may have relatives here.
Mr. Smith is described as a small man, about 30 years old and was a sawyer by trade. Persons interested are requested to write to J.A. Smith, Bairdstown, Ga., for particulars.
