Mostellers Give Valentine Party, Feb. 12, 1921
The Valentine party given on Tuesday evening by the Philathea class of the First Baptist church at the home of Mr. And Mrs. C.L. Mosteller was one of the chief interesting affairs of the week and was thoroughly enjoyed. The party which was given for the Baracas, the officers of the Sunday school and their wives and the Sunday school teachers.
The lower floor was thrown open and transformed into a veritable Valentine bower with myriads of red hearts every where. Other decorations lending effect to the scene were lovely potted plants.
The guests were greeted at the door by Mr. and Mrs. Mosteller and directed to the cloak rooms on the second floor. On coming down the guests were told to follow a line of hearts which led into the south parlor where a Valentine register was kept at a prettily decorated table which was placed under a shower of red hearts suspended from the chandelier.
Partners were found by matching hearts and the evening was happily spent in playing games and solving contests which were in keeping with the Valentine occasion, and loads of fun resulted from the writing and reading aloud of original proposals by the gentlemen present.
During the evening delicious ice cream, home made cake and candy was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Mosteller were assisted in entertaining by Mrs. A.F. Wagner, acting president of the class, and the class officers, Mrs. F.A. Henderson, Miss Rose Martin, Mrs. J.H. Elliott, Mrs. Hal Latta, Mrs. E.H. Umstead, Mrs. C.A. Yost and Mrs. A.C. Rink.
