Everyone will be glad to know that Mr. Herbert Greene, one of the boys that was badly broken up in the automobile wreck against the Bank of Ellerbe and who has been in the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte since then, has returned home.

Mr. Teddy Ingram, who had the misfortune to get shot Christmas, has returned from the hospital at Hamlet. I am sure everyone is glad to see him at home again.

Steel’s Mill News

Born Jan. 27th to Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Reed, a daughter, Johnsie Pauline.

Mrs. P.P. Melton is on the sick list this week; hope she will soon recover.

We are glad to learn that the Methodist Sunday School is rapidly progressing, having to organize two new classes.

Mrs. Ben Livington is on the sick list this week. Hoe she will soon recover.

Roberdel No. 2

Mr. Earnest Seawell and Miss Nellie Dawkins were happily married Saturday night at the home of Rev. W.R. Coppedge. Their friends wish them much joy.

The many friends of Mr. Travis Russell were grieved to learn of his death Wednesday of last week. Funeral services were conducted at his home Friday morning, and interment was at Bear Branch cemetery.

There will be an oyster supper at the W.O.W. Hall Saturday night for the benefit of the M.E. Philathea Class. Ice cream and good sandwiches will be son sale. Everybody come!

Mangum Items

Everybody seems to be enjoying the pretty weather after so much snow.

Miss Bertha Lisk has returned to Wadesboro to resume her school work after spending the week-end at home.

Mr. Tom Matheson is able to be out again after a slight operation at Charlotte hospital.

All report a nice time at the singing at Mr. G.W. Andrews Friday night.

J.T. Jerome of Durham, Field Secretary for the N.C. Conference, will meet with the Hebron Sunday school Wednesday, Feb. 9th.

Mr. Davis Haywood has just completed a new and up-to-date garage and will be ready to serve the public in the near future.

Mrs. J.H. Maner has returned home after a two week’s stay at Wadesboro, with relatives.

Mr. Fletcher Lisk expects to leave Wednesday for Knoxville, Tenn., where he will take a four-year course in Civil Engineering.

Mr. W.P. Johnson has been very busy the past week building a wagon bed.

Roberdel Items

Mr. and Mrs. E.B. Stogner spent Sunday with his mother in Rockingham, who has been very sick.

Misses Marie and Lucy Nichols spent the week-end with Miss Viola Gibson.

Miss Georgie Gibson left Saturday for Charlotte to be with her sister who is undergoing an operation for goiter.

The community club met with Mrs. S.F. Gibson Tuesday evening, the majority of members being present. Mrs. J.S. Covington gave some good advice to the members as she has been in Greensboro for a month studying community work.
