Students Describe Teacher Who Is Recently Engaged, Feb. 4, 1921

By the “Mystic Twelve” of Ahoskie High School

General Appearance—small of stature, full o’ pep, always smiling, genuinely feminine in every respect, an ideal portrayal of a woman mentally and physically.

Features—Fair complexion, countenance soft, refined, and beautifully expressive, like that of the ancient goddess, Athena. Blue eyes, always twinkling with the spirit of pure fun; small mouth, aquiline nose, well proportioned and in short general harmony of facial expression hard to excel.

General Characteristics—Very popular as a teacher, and also otherwise plenty of temper, but usually well controlled; cheerful disposition; has a keen sense of humor in the school room, and elsewhere; plucky and dauntless; uses plenty of common sense in dealing with her pupils, and is not over-bearing with them. To describe her is to say: “A good all-round teacher, and one who has the loyal support and appreciation of all the students in the High School.

Special Feature—The symbol on her left hand, third finger, of ---- Sh! Sh! Cupid’s affairs must not be meddled with! But any way it is said to have set the fellow back something like 350 “bones.” That is all for this time. Thank you!
