Are Guards of Private Game Preserve Guilty of Murder of Derwood Gallop? March 9, 1921

Are Selecting Jury in Currituck Trial

Currituck, March 9—A special venire of 100 was drawn today from which to select a jury to try St. Clair Leward and John Wicker, two guards on a privately-owned game preserve in this county, charged with murder in connection with the shooting to death of Derwood Gallop, when Gallop and a companion are said to have ventured upon the preserve while hunting last Thanksgiving day. It was expected the entire session of court today would be taken up with the selection of a jury and the taking of evidence would begin tomorrow.
