Balsam Grove and Shoal Creek News

The Shoal Creek School has closed on account of measles and there are several cases at present, but all are getting some better.

Harry McCall, son of Dr. McCall, accidentally shot himself last Tuesday while hunting for sheep. They have taken him to the hospital and his many friends hope he will recover very soon.

Ira McCall, son of Rufus McCall, got run over with the leaver car last Friday evening and was very badly hurt. One arm broken and legs badly hurt, but don’t think they are broken.

Mrs. Thomas Owen is recovering after several days illness.

Mr. and Mrs. T.L. Jones have been visiting their daughter, Mrs. Baron McCall.

W.J. Smith made a business trip to Davidson River last week.

Mrs. Bly Owen and daughter spent the day with her mother last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Pearson Galloway have moved in their house with their mother, Mrs. Flight Galloway.

Mr. and Mrs. S. Owen spent the week with her parents.

Willie McCall’s baby was very sick last week, but is better.

Mrs. Van McCall spent several days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dillard Owen.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Honeycutt have moved into the Dock Bentley house.

Miss Minnie Owen has returned to her home in Jackson after visiting her sisters, Mrs. Wilkie and Mrs. Willie McCall.
