First Woman Registrar Very Successful in Charlotte, April 13, 1921

Mrs. E.C. Register Gets Many Names

Mrs. E.C. Register, woman registrar in the Fourth Ward, is setting the pace for registrars in all wards and precincts of the city and county in behalf of the approaching bond election, according to Chairman W.M. Smith of the county board of elections and others.

Not only has she been zealous to respond to the requests of those who call at her home at the Graham apartments on North Tryon street to register them properly, but she has gone to the homes of voters in the ward and given them an opportunity. Nearly every eligible person in the ward is registered at present, it is said.
