When Voter Registrations Expired After Each Election, April 8, 1921

Citizens Must Be Registered to Vote In Town Election

All citizens desiring to vote in the coming municipal election must be duly registered, and for this purpose the town registration books will be opened on April 15. They will remain open for seven days, exclusive of Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Saturday, April 16, when they will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. F.E. Shuford is the Registrar.

The last day of registration will be Friday, April 22, after which the books will be closed and the opportunity to register gone. Saturday, the 23rd, will be Challenge Day, when the books will be open for inspection.

Attention is called to the fact that all citizens, whose names do not appear on the books for the last municipal election, cannot vote in the coming election unless they duly register.

This year the women vote for the first time in town election, and of course, they, without exception, will have to register if they wish to vote. The registration for last fall’s national, State and county election will not entitle them to vote for Mayor and Aldermen.
