Lumberton, May 14—A cyclone which struck the Long Branch neighborhood, five miles south of Lumberton late Friday, injured a number of people, demolished several residences, ruined crops in its path and rendered roads impassable by trees being blown down, according to meager detailed received here.
The residence of John Lamb, a farmer, was completely demolished and five members of the family injured, a small baby being the only person in the home to escape. The building was rent into splinters and the only piece of furniture left on the premises was a clock, according to reports received. A stable is said to have been completely blown away, while a mule housed there was unhurt. Thousands of trees were uprooted in the path of the storm.
