Mr. Chas. M. Earley of Gatesville spent last Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Earley.
We are very sorry to report Mrs. J.L. Chamblee very sick at this writing and hope she will soon recover.
Little Miss Elizabeth Sumner accompanied her grandmother, Mrs. G.P. Behthall, to her home in Rocky Mount last Friday.
Miss Pauline Doughtie of Ahoskie spent last Saturday night in the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Slaughter.
Mr. Troy Dilday suffered a very painful accident last Saturday when he fell from a load of hay on which he was riding, resulting in a dislocated shoulder.
Mrs. J.T. Sumner and children spent last Friday and Saturday with Mrs. J.J. Hayes in Ahoskie.
Probably one of the largest fish caught around here was caught one day last week by Mr. Claxton Earley, it being a black fish, weighing 8 ½ pounds.
Mesdames May Raby and D. Lowe spent Tuesday with Mrs. Bettie Adkins at Bethlehem.
Mr. and Mrs. Junie Uphlett of Gates County and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dilday from Brantleys Grove section spent last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Wiggins.
Mr. Jno. Slaughter of Bethlehem spent Sunday in the home of his brother, Mr. C.G. Slaughter.
