Pupils of Mrs. Pritchard Give Recital
The pupils of Mrs. W.A. Pritchett gave a splendid recital Wednesday and Thursday evening in the recital hall of the John W. Post Piano Company. Prizes to the best performers were presented by Mrs. J.M. Stewart and A.D. Lajoie.
Wednesday evening the primary and junior pupils were Harriet Harman, Thelma Webb, Virginia Bradley, Ethel Leaper, Billie Pritchett, Frances Martin, Annie Dean, Lucile Bush, Edith Cochran, Margie Robertson, Ruby Kelly, Virginia Brooks, Edna Hilton, Mary Curlee, Edith Hager, Evenly White.
Thursday evening the intermediate participated. Among those on the program were Margaret Strong, Lucile and Louise Caudle, Beryl McIntosh, Emma Meeker, Lucile Dean, Alma Wingate, Blanche Caldwell, Marguerite Farrington, Violet Dunn, Erskine Faines, Edna McClanahan, Margaret Cashion, Annie Mae Pritchett, Hannah Levy, Marguerite Bailey, Tvenly Josephs, Alice Bell, Annie Pittle, Catherine Whitt.
Rev. Conrad and Dr. Ivey gave short addresses both evenings, prior to the opening of the program.
Birth Announcements
Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Glenn announce the birth of a daughter, Carolyn Elizabeth, on Wednesday, June 8th, at the home of Mr. Glenn’s parents in Gastonia.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter W.D. Jones announce the birth of a daughter, Mary Marshall, at St. Peter’s hospital, Saturday, June 11.
Mrs. Orr Improving
The many friends of Mrs. W.S. Orr, who has been quite sick at the Charlotte sanatorium following the removal of her tonsils, will be glad to learn that she is somewhat improved.
Little Girls Celebrate Birthdays
Cornelia and Irene, the little daughters of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Davis, have a party Friday afternoon at their home, in celebration of their 4th and 3rd birthdays, respectively, which are three days apart.
Miss Cornelia wore pink organdie and Miss Irene hand-embroidered batiste.
Pink and white were the colors used in decoration. Ice cream and cake were served.
About 20 tots were present.
