Dunn, July 9—Ed. Collins, somnambulist, was perhaps fatally injured early Thursday morning when he walked while asleep through the second story window of his boarding house near the mills of Tilghman Lumber Company, on the outskirts of Dunn, and sustained what is thought to be a fracture of his spinal column. He was carried to a Fayetteville hospital on an early morning train and was resting quietly when last heard from.
Collins was employed as a saw filer by the lumber company. He was a confirmed sleep walker but in the heat of Thursday night he left his windows open. He arose just before day and walked through the window, not awakening until he struck the ground 20 feet below. He struck on his head but retained consciousness long enough to call for help. Efforts to ascertain where his home is were unavailing today.
