Bill Horah, Interesting Local Character, Taken to Insane Asylum, Aug. 7, 1921

“Bill” Horah Goes to State Hospital

William H. “Bill” Horah, one of the most interesting of local characters, has been taken to the state insane asylum at Morganton for treatment. Deputy Sheriff V.P. Fesperman made the trip with him, returning Friday. Horah’s mind is said to have been affected for some time and his condition became such the first of the week as to necessitate treatment at the state hospital. He was in Morganton for a few months about three years ago and apparently recovered.

Horah inherited a large amount of money some years ago, the amount running into five figures. He is said to have spent much of it previous to the appointment of a guardian. He is known by many of the city, and despite his eccentricity and peculiarities, is regarded as a man of numerous good qualities.
