TB Picked Up in Army of Occupation in Germany Kills Grady Stamey, 25, Nov. 17, 1921

War Veteran Dies of Long Illness

Grady G. Stamey, 25 years old, died yesterday morning following a long illness resulting from pulmonary tuberculosis contracted while serving in the Army of Occupation in Germany.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Lee Stamey, 9657 Fifty-seventh Avenue South. He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Charles DeMerritt and Miss Ruth Stamey of this city; and two brothers, Arthur A. Stamey of Portland and Harold Stamey of Newport News, Va.

Funeral services will be held today at 3:30 at the Columbia Undertaking establishment, followed by cremation.

(The deceased was a cousin of the editor and has numerous relatives throughout North Carolina and Virginia, who will be pained to learn of this noble young man’s death.)
