He is the new pastor of Blackwell Memorial Baptist Church. This man Thayer has a fearless eye and a fighting chin. He told his new congregation Sunday night that he expected to say just what he thought whenever he thought it, but would always say it with a smile. Dr. Thayer is under 40 and full of pep. He has a rapid fire delivery and shoots his message over the pulpit without sawing the air or prancing up and down the carpet. He is a native of Charleston, S.C., a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, holding the degree of Doctor of Theology.
