The two new automotive lines recently added to the lines distributed in this territory by the Dowling Motor Company, which are the Ruggles speed truck and the Durant car, have jumped into immediate popularity, according to H.S. Dowling.
Though contracts for these two lines were signed only three weeks ago, Mr. Dowling said he already has succeeded in cling dealer contracts for a large part of his territory.
The Durant car is a product of the factory headed by W.C. Durant, one of the best known motor car manufacturers in the world, who formerly was the executive head of General Motors. Mr. Dowling said Mr. Durant had built into the car which bears his name all the good qualities essential to a popular, serviceable medium-priced car, and the designing and construction work is done in the light of Mr. Durant’s years of successful experience.
‘Mr. Ruggles, the manufacturer of the Ruggles truck, is to the truck manufacturing industry what Mr. Durant is to the motor car industry, and in the Ruggles truck, a medium-priced speedy truck is an exceptionally fine unit,” said Mr. Dowling.
