Buford township has two less dogs now than a few days ago. This because a shepherd and a bull dog make a bad combination when left at home alone. Mr. George Funderburk of Buford township carried his family to a neighbor’s for a visit last Sunday and left the shepherd dog at home. While the family was away Mr. Ellison Rogers’ bull dog called on the shepherd and they decided to have a nice “mess” of chicken and as a result of the decision 41 hens, three roosters and a guinea were killed. The dogs were not satisfied with killing the ones at large, but actually ate a slat in order to get into a coop that they might finish the job by killing the three that were shut up in it. It is stated that the yard was literally covered with feathers when Mr. Funderburk and his family returned.
