New Bern, March 10—John Newby and Ben Fisher, negroes, are in jail here and their 30-foot gas boat Arentta, along with 77 gallons of illicit whiskey, is in the custody of the police as the result of a raid by Chief of Police A.L. Bryan and other members of the force on Lawson’s creek, back of the city water and light plant early this afternoon.
