Kentuckian Whips Biologist Over Belief That Apes Were Human's Ancestors, March 13, 1922

A Kentuckian whipped a biologist for telling him that he descended from the ape family. Biologists are not forward looking men. They go back into the past for millions of years and don’t seem to know that it makes people mad to be told that in the dim ages of primordial life their ancestors climbed trees and gnawed nuts for a living. Most people have an idea that they are distantly related to Adam and had their lot cast in America because a hefty set of ancestral immigrants landed here on the Mayflower.
