John Ewbank will experiment in raspberry growing for the next two years on his Shaws Creek farm.
Mr. Ewbank is limiting his efforts this year to one-half acre on which he has planted 1,000 plants. Next fall he expects to plant another half acre. The harvest next year and the market price will determine his future efforts in this direction.
In 1916 Mr. Ewbank plated quite a large patch of raspberry plants but the flood destroyed most of them. From the few that were left he sold a berry crop of $165, a good return from the space occupied and the time required.
Mr. Ewbank is of the opinion that berries can be profitably grown here as well as in other sections where much attention is given them.
