FULTON LOWRY, probably the most cunning young desperado in North Carolina, who has been thrice committed to State’s Prison for numerous crimes of burglary and highway robbery, is at large again. He escaped from the State’s Prison probably Tuesday night, according to a wire received by the Chief of Police here Wednesday morning. Fulton Lowry was sent to the penitentiary form Elizabeth City in 1918 under a 25-year sentence. He escaped from his guards a few months thereafter and was not recaptured again until caught with a stolen automobile at Hamlet last January. He got an added 10 years for the theft of the automobile and was sent back to the pen. And now he is out again. He was out of the penitentiary on leg bail when given his 25-year sentence here four years ago. He positively refuses to stay in jail and his parents, John B.
