$10,000, 600-Gallon Still Destroyed Near Littleton, July 15, 1922

Great Big Still Captured by Officers

Salisbury, N.C., July 15—a still with a capacity of 600 gallons was captured on the Roanoke river, near Littleton, a short distance from Raleigh, yesterday afternoon, according to information received today by Federal Prohibition Commissioner R.A. Kohloss.

400 gallons of mean liquor, 4,440 gallons of mash and 1,000 pounds of sugar were taken.

The equipment was estimated to have cost over $10,000. The outfit was ordered destroyed and the liquor poured into the river by Prohibition commissioner Kohloss.
