Mrs. Washington Sikes and Mrs. R.E. Jackson Have Died, July 21, 1922

Aged Granville Lady Passed Away Monday. . . The Highly Esteemed Mother of Dr. G.T. Sykes

Mrs. Washington Sikes, mother of Dr. G.T. Sikes of the Grissom section, died at her home Monday afternoon at the ripe old age of 88 years. Mrs. Sikes was one of the most highly esteemed women of her community. The funeral services were conducted from Rock Springs Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon, and the remains were laid to rest in the church cemetery.

Mrs. R.E. Jackson Dead

Mrs. R.E. Jackson, a highly esteemed lady of the Mary’s Chapel section, died Tuesday afternoon at her home after an illness extending over a period of several months. She is survived by her husband and several children and a host of relatives in Granville and adjoining counties. The funeral was held from Mary’s Chapel Church Wednesday afternoon, and interment followed in the church cemetery.
