Attacks Girl Says She Stole Husband

Charlotte, Aug. 12—Mrs. Hester Williams, of this city, is out on a $50 bond for assault on Miss Hadie Ferris, clerk in Purcell’s store on North Tryon street. Mrs. Williams attacked the girl in the store charging her with taking her husband from her, biting and striking the girl. The girl protested her innocence, declaring that she knew no man by the name of Williams. The police were called and Mrs. Williams was locked up until bond was given her.

It was said afterward that it was a case of mistaken identity.
