Quiet Again Reigns About Spencer Shops

Salisbury, N.C., Sept. 1—Quiet has reigned at the Spencer shops of the Southern railway since the departure of the eight organizations of national guardsmen to their home stations yesterday afternoon. Local authorities stated nothing of a disorderly nature occurred in Spencer or Salisbury last night or today.

Troops were removed under orders of Governor Morrison following a conference between Col. Don E. Scott, commanding officer, and representatives of the striking shopmen and the railroad, at which assurances were given law and order would be preserved.
