Dr. R.A. Morrisey, principal of the colored graded schools here, reports that on October 6 at 3 p.m. a large number of the parents of children attending the graded school met at the Shannon Street school and as an evidence of their interest in its welfare, organized a Parent-Teachers’ Association. The following temporary officers were elected: Mrs. Sarah Jones, President; Mrs. Sarah Holly, Vice-President; Mrs. Maggie Spellman, Secretary; Mrs. Ida Johnson, Treasurer.
