Hosley Wins Electric Heater in Guessing Contest, Nov. 4, 1922

Noel C. Hosley Wins in Guessing Contest

More than a thousand persons made a pass at the age of Jimmy Jones Westinghouse while he was on the rounds up Union square for two weeks and Noel C. Hoslef guessed right. Jimmy and Noel hit it—December 20, 1919. Others shot all around the mark. There were some poor guessers, as you might realize now, some people feeling that Jimmy had not been well fed and was undergrown as if he had been afflicted with hookworm or something. The Southern Public Utilities Company will present a cozy glow electric heater to Nozel C. Hosley.

From the front page of the Hickory Daily Record, Nov. 4, 1922. Winner's name was spelled Noel and Nozel in the article.
