Rev. W.S. Hale to be Buried in Charlotte

Salisbury, Feb. 13—Rev. W.S. Hale died at Badin last night at 8 o’clock, death being caused by pneumonia. He leaves his wife and three children, a daughter, Miss Ethel, teaching at Concord, one son in Rutherford College and one son in Philadelphia.

Funeral will be held at Badin Wednesday at 11 o’clock, conducted by Dr. T.F. Marr, assisted by John Kirk and J.E. Thompson.

Interment will be at Charlotte. Mr. Hale joined the North Carolina Methodist conference at Wilson in 1879. There are only three active members of the Western North Carolina Conference older in service than Mr. Hales. Only two of Mr. Hales’ conference classmates are living, those being J.E. Thompson and S.L. Townsend. Mr. Hales was sent to Badin at the last annual conference.
