Charles Westbrook Killed Attempting to Board Train Leaving Station, March 6,1923

Man Is Killed by a Train at Blacksburg

Charles Westbrook, son of R.A. Westbrook, was instantly killed by a northbound freight train at Blacksburg, S.C., Sunday at 11 o’clock. The testimony at the inquest was to the effect that he attempted to board the train as it was leaving the station, missed his hold and fell under the wheels, both legs being severed from his body. The coroner’s jury put no blame on the railroad.
