Goldsboro, April 13—Edgar Bain, former national guard officer and captain of an infantry company in the 30th Division, was elected mayor of this town yesterday for a third term. He was given a nominal majority over three opponents.

Big Banks Merge
New Bern, April 13—The People’s and National banks here announced their consolidation last yesterday. The single bank will have resources of $3 million.
