Mr. Sloan Retires as Auditor Reynolds Co.

Announcement has been made at the offices of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company of the resignation of James Sloan, auditor for the company, effective May 1. Mr. Sloan has been with the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for many years, starting while a student at school working during vacation. Completing his education he took a clerical position and steadily advanced to the office of auditor, and in 1921 was made a director of the company.

Mr. Sloan’s retirement is viewed with regret by his business associates, all of whom hold him in highest esteem both on account of his marked abilities and his high character and splendid qualities as a friend and associate, it was pointed out.
