Mrs. Gabriel Dies After Long Illness

Newton, April 2—News has been received here of the death of Mrs. Victoria Gabriel, which occurred at her home at Terrell, this county, on Friday morning. Mrs. Gabriel was one of Catawba’s finest women and will be greatly missed in her community. She has been a sufferer for several months, following an attack of influenza, from which she never recovered. The deceased was in her 77th year and is survived by several children and a large number of grandchildren. Her son, Tom Gabriel, is chief-of-police of Newton.

The funeral services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the home, the interment taking place in the family burying ground near the home.
