Well Known Man Died at Hospital. . . Wesley Harris Died Saturday Evening After Short Illness—Funeral Monday

Wesley Harris, aged 33 years, died Saturday evening at 6 o’clock at Watts hospital after an illness of only one month from a complication of kidney diseases. He was carried to the local hospital for treatment and two or three days ago his condition became worse with no hopes being held out for his recovery. He staged a hard fight for life.

The deceased was born in Goldsboro but when but an infant his parents moved to Chapel Hill where he lived for most of his life. After leaving the University, Mr. Harris was associated with the late A.M. Carr of the Durham Hosiery Mills of New York, acting as salesman for the entire south. After the death of Mr. Carr he worked in the New York office. Later he became connected with the Durham Notion company, then with the Austin-Heaton company, which position he held until his health forced him to give it up.

He was a devout Christian and a member of the Chapel Hill Methodist church.

Surviving him are his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Carr Harris of Chapel Hill, two sisters, Mrs. R.R. Eubanks and Miss Nanine Harris, both of Chapel Hill, and two brothers, Junius T. Harris of Chapel Hill and A.M. Harris of Durham.

The funeral arrangements had not been completed last night but it is thought that the services will be held in Chapel Hill some time Monday afternoon.
