Misses Jackson, Whitehead and Harrelson, teachers of the Leaksville High School, left this morning for their homes to spend the summer vacation.
Mr. Johnson, Miss Elizabeth Simpson, Mrs. Hunter of Draper, Mr. P.H. Gwynn and Mr. W.B. Weaver were in Martinsville last night in interest of the Playground.
Mr. Thomas Whichard left yesterday for Burlington where he will work during the summer vacation. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.F. Whichard, moved to Burlington last week to make that their home.
Miss Minnie Walker, who has been attending High School in Leaksville, left this morning for Greensbro to spend the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Walker, who have recently moved to Greensboro.
Rev. W.L. Sherrill, pastor of the Leaksville Methodist Church, who has been ill for some time and who is now in Charlotte, will be operated on at the Charlotte Sanitorium Friday. His many friends hope for is speedy recovery.
Mr. J.W. Ivie and Miss Kathleen Ivie spent Wednesday in Danville shopping.
Mr. Tom Taylor of New York City is visiting his parents, Dr. and Mrs. T.G. Taylor, for several days.
Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Weatherly left today for home in Kernersville it spend the summer vacation. Mrs. Weatherly was a teacher of the Leaksville Graded School and Mr. Weatherly was principal of the Leaksville High School.
Misses Calhoun and Clark, teachers of the High School, left this morning for their homes to spend the summer vacation.
Mr. Jack Massey of Spray is spending several days in Greensboro on business.
Mr. John Smith was in Reidsville Tuesday afternoon on business.
Misses Black and McCracken, teachers of the Leaksville High School, left his morning for their homes to spend the summer vacation.
Mrs. John Galloway and Miss Perkins of Greensboro were visiting friends in Leaksville today.

Mrs. Sam Hairston delightfully entertained the Border Book Club Wednesday afternoon at her beautiful home at Cascade, Va.
The guests were received by Mrs. Hairston in her most gracious manner and were ushered to the punch bowl where delicious bunch was served by Mrs. John Gillmer of Winston Salem.
The home was artistically decorated in beautiful roses and flowers of all kinds.
A most interesting paper was read on “News” by Miss Mary Walker of Danville. After this delightful reading, Mrs. Hairston, assisted by her charming daughters, Misses Anne, Ruth and Mary, served a delicious salad course.
Just before the guests departed for their homes Mrs. Hairston showed them through her wonderful old-fashioned garden which is more than 80 years old.
Those present besides the hostess, Mrs. Hairston, were Mrs. William Jones and Miss Mary Walker of Danville, Mrs. John Gilmber of Winston Salem, Mesdames J.B. Ray, John Carter, A.E. Millner,Hiram Foard and Mrs. P.V. Godfrey of Leaksville, Mesdames Jim Estess, French, Sam Wilson and Scales of the meadows.
