High Point—Modern printing plant to be started.

Raleigh—Auto and gas tax will raise $6 million for highways next year.

Greensboro--$1 million fire insurance company organized here to be named Southern.

Chadbourne—Trucker here gets $3,445.20 for carload of strawberries, record price.

High Point--$400,000 building movement on, many homes and business blocks planned.

Hendersonville—Apple packing plant started, to cost $20,000.

Rutherfordton—Stonecutter mills add new unit to plant at Spindale.

Asheville—Mars Hill College to have $35,000 gymnasium and swimming pool.

Wilmington—Atlantic Coast line spending $26 million in equipment and betterments.

Greensboro—College for Women gets $3.5 million from state; $300,000 for two buildings at once.

Rutherfordton—New $100,000 Iso Thermal hotel opened for business.

Wilmington—Cape Fear River traffic urged as aid to get locks and dam.

Dunn—New hospital just completed fills urgent need.

Mocksville—New Overall factory established here.

Many new industries established at Wilmington, and boosters bidding for more.

Enfield—New power plant completed at cost of $65,000.

Lenoir county developing poultry industry and plans to have 1 million hens.

Lumberton—Will vote of $10,000 bond issue June 9 for Rex school house.

Aberdeen—Big building boom makes more homes available.

Gastonia—Gaston Times turned out fine national publicity edition.
