Pvt. Horace K. Meal Found Dead in His Bed, June 14, 1923

Fort Bragg Soldier Found Dead

Fayetteville—Natural causes was the cause of the death of First Class Private Horace K. Meal of Battery C., 17th Field Artillery, who was found dead on his cot in the regimental barracks at Fort Bragg, according to the report of a military board of investigating made public. The report followed an autopsy on the body of the dead man. There was no evidences of violence or of unnatural causes of any kind, the investigators stated.

Neal’s home is at Henrietta, N.C., where his father, Edgar Neal, resides. The body was sent to Ellenboro, this state, for burial.
