Taylor-Anderson, Hobgood-Hester, Stark-Zehner Weddings, June 5, 1923

Taylor-Anderson. . . Son of Commissioner Thomas G. Taylor Marries in Raleigh

Announcements which read as follows have been issued:

“Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harris Anderson have the honor of announcing the marriage of their daughter, Theodora Marshall, to Mr. Cary Buxton Taylor, on Saturday, the second of June, 1923, Raleigh, North Carolina.”

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Anderson of Raleigh and has numerous friends wio will be interested in her marriage. She attended St. Mary’s School.

Mr. Taylor was graduated from the University of North Carolina and is with the State Highway Commission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T.G. Taylor of Oxford. They will be at home in Raleigh after June 15th, on the corner of New Bern avenue and Bloodworth street.

Rev. Lewis Taylor of Roanoke Rapids, brother of the bridegroom, performed the ceremony. The bride wore a modish traveling suit of navy blue with hat to match and a squirrel neckpiece.

Hobgood-Hester. . . Wedding Took Place in Raleigh Last Saturday

The marriage of Miss Foy Hester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Hester of Oxford Route 1, and Mr. Charlie S. Hobgood of Wendell took place Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Johnson, 118 Dawson street, Raleigh. Dr. T.W. O’Kelley of the First Baptist church performed the ceremony in the presence of a few intimate friends. The music was rendered by Miss Ethel Sorrell. Immediately after the ceremony the bride and groom left for Asheville and other points of interest.

Stark-Zehner. . . Mr. Sehner Is From Asheland, Ohio

Miss Marie Stark and Mr. J.B. Zehner were quietly married at the Presbyterian manse last Friday night, the ceremony being performed by Pastor F.F. Comerford in the presence of a few invited friends.

The bride is the daughter of Capt. and Mrs. L.W. Stark and is one of Oxford’s most popular young women and is admired by a large circle of friends.

Mr. Zehner is from Ashland, Ohio, and is a well-known supervisor of construction work, being connected with one of the largest building contractors in the Western States. He is at present supervising the erection of the Hicks’ Memorial Hospital at the Oxford Orphanage.

Mr. and Mrs. Zehner are at home on College street, in the Stark home.
